Security Services
TDI conducts threat assessment, information gathering, crisis management and other security-related operations in the US and in a wide variety of countries and regions prone to political instability, regional conflicts and economic crises. TDI facilitates and supports these operations by proactively monitoring threats and accessing targeted, relevant information. TDI also identifies and vets local security providers, ensuring that contractors operate in compliance with local and US laws.

TDI professionals have performed a range of energy, maritime, ship and port facility security requirements and offer a comprehensive security system design and implementation capability. Traditionally concentrated within the energy industry, TDI specializes in system design, threat and vulnerability assessment, training, and managed implementation services for major domestic and international operating and production facilities.

TDI is certified to perform security risk assessment methodologies including CARVER, Sandia’s RAM-T, RAM-D, and RAM-W, API and CCPS.
A major US energy company engaged TDI to develop a crisis management and threat monitoring program for its overseas facilities in 20 countries. TDI conducted a threat assessment for each facility and established a program to monitor these threats on an ongoing basis. For facilities in especially high-risk areas such as the Persian Gulf and South Asia, TDI conducted on-site inspections to evaluate security measures and ensure that crisis management procedures were in place. TDI also helped the client establish a headquarters-based crisis management center to provide a scaled evaluation of threat conditions; coordinate threat intelligence from local US government representation and information from other sources; and provide immediate crisis response.
TDI conducted a Water Suitability Assessment (WSA) and developed the final report for a major Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal in the US. The WSA report included: (1) port characterization, (2) characterization of an LNG facility and LNG tanker routes, (3) conducting safety and security risk assessments, (4) developing risk management strategies, (5) identifying resource needs for safety, security, training, and response, (6) developing recommendations, and (7) ensuring compliance with all US and international regulations.
TDI personnel authored the USCG Navigational Vessel Information Circular (NVIC) regarding the International Port Security Program for the conduct of security audits and the sharing of security best practices for foreign port owners and operators. TDI personnel were also selected by the USCG to organize and implement ISPS compliance inspections, including petrochemical and manufacturing assets, within ports in Japan, Canada, Greece and Algeria.
TDI conducted a three-year threat monitoring program designed to support strategic decision-making processes for a major multinational energy company with operating interests throughout the Middle East, Africa, South America and the US. The program identified developing global threat and political-economic risks with the potential to impact commodities prices and assessed domestic market dynamics.
